12 May has been declared as Glory Presbyterian Church's Day of Fasting.. Fasting involves a few kinds, eg:

- full fast (giving up food for the entire day)
- partial fast (abstainance from certain food, such as meat, which jun & I had done twice in the last few months..)
- sexual fast (abstainance from sex)

on sun's sermon by Rev Yap, he also mentioned 6 different approaches of fasting which are quite interesting..

1. Fast from anger and hatred. Give your family an extra dose of love each day.

we went to long beach seafood restaurant to have the bday celebration for my dad yesterday at east coast seafood centre, under great recommendation from guobin.. heh.. i must tell you, the food there is wonderful and the service there is the best! ironically, they dun charge service charge somemore.. haha.. ;) let's talk as we look at the photos... heh..

sambal kang kong which my family will order no matter where we go.. =p

prok ribs.. this is the BEST i have eaten in my entire life.. serious.. a must try!

cereal prawns.. can give this a miss though.. there is a better one at nosignboard seafood restaurant..

the main dish! CHILLI CRABS! superb.. i even downed 4 fried steam buns.. =p

black pepper crab! very nice too.. hot but not too spicy.. slurp..

one of our family favourites too.. the yam is soft and not too starchy.. =)

to sum up the excellent service, the supervisor even surprised my dad with the chocolate pudding desert when she got to know that it was his bday! she even said that we should have let her know earlier.. wonder what she would have given us.. haha.. i personally feel the staff at long beach deserve to be a showcase for the entire service sector of singapore.. sounds too exaggerating..? you have to experience it for yourself.. =)

the feast/celebration continued back home with the cutting of the bday cake.. and what else but coco exotic from four leaves!

another wonderful 7-member family celebration.. (i did not count wrongly.. that one with her eyes shining also included.. ha.. =p) =D

i am already looking forward to mother's day already.. heh.. wonder where we will go this time.. but first, my last paper tmr and the fyp oral presentation.. ;p

i am currently preparing the slides for the fyp presentation in 1 week's time, and jun is preparing for her 3 papers this week.. this 2 weeks will be another 2 life-changing weeks for us:

- my last paper of my undergraduate life on wed (3 May)
- jun's last paper on fri (5 May)
- jun's interview with siemens (1 of her 2 dream jobs) next mon (8 May morning)
- our fyp presentation next mon also (8 May afternoon)
- reporting to work the mon after next (15 May)

do pray for us k.. =)

today is also a special day, besides it being labour day and part of a super long weekend.. it's my dad's bday!! Happy Bday dad!! He has been a pillar of my life this 25 years and is still a pillar.. i just hope that he does not work too hard these days and start to enjoy life whenever he can.. but most importantly, it will be my greatest greatest wish to see him knowing Christ and accepting Him as his personal Lord and Saviour 1 day.. it's my prayer that the day comes soon.. my mom has also decided to treat my dad to seafood at east coast for dinner tonight! our family's 1st time there since it would have been inconvenient without a car.. today's also a test of my car's power with the entire of my family present, together with jun.. haha.. should not be too bad la hor..? heh.. ;p more on the dinner in another post i supposed.. =)

by the way, enjoy the election fever everyone, i'm enjoying it everyday reading the news and laughing at what some are saying.. the only thing is.. i can't vote!! =p 6 may should be interesting, nevertheless, looking at how the results unfold..

jun and i have been looking for empty cardboard boxes in printing shops in ntu for her to pack her notes when she move out of hall.. have deliberately visited 2 of the printing shops but to no avail.. it seems that they are all snapped up by the other students already.. however, this morning just as i was walking into the hss lib entrance to revise my work there, a cleaning lady carrying 2 cardboard boxes from the hss printing corner walked straight into me! i immediately asked her if she needed the 2 boxes and she said she was gg to throw them away! in the end, she gladly passed me the 2 boxes which were clean and both of us were happy.. win-win situation.. heh.. thank God for His providence.. He sometimes works in small unexpected but delightful ways.. ;)

oh ya, pump prices has just gone up yesterday.. =( shell led the onslaught, but i'm glad i got to know of this news early and went to get my car pumped full before mobil increased their prices.. =)

i have completed ALL the core modules of my uni education!! heh.. today's con tech paper was ok.. hopefully i do not have too many mistakes to be penalised.. :p now is left with my last paper on wed which is the translation paper.. i have to stay disciplined to study.. my focus is also shifting to the fyp presentation which will be on 8 may.. that will be the BIG one.. ;p

today is the election nomination day.. i live in the marine parade constituency.. alright, still not able to vote for the very first time.. :p
